The first comic book geek I’ve ever met was my P.E. teacher when I was in 5th grade. He talked about Superman all the time, but I wasn’t really interested in comics back then. Okay, I was. I was into Archie comics when I was in grade school. Betty and Veronica were teh hot! Anyway, this P.E. teacher dude finally got my attention when, in front of the class, he took out his trade paperback of The Death of Superman saga. He let some of us read a few pages of his precious TPB, and thus, the seeds of my comic book geekery were planted.

A decade and a half later, the seeds have grown into an oak of a comic book geek. And this oak is geeking out on the thing that practically gave it its life: The Death of Superman in animated form. Here’s the trailer for the Superman Doomsday straight-to-DVD animated feature:

I knew it was coming. For years, I’ve been warning local scientists and politicians, but they never listen. Now, it’s too late. The invasion of vampire animals is commencing! BEHOLD! From CNN.com, VAMPIRE PEACOCK!

NEW YORK (AP) - A peacock that roamed into the parking lot of a Burger King in New York City was beaten by a man who insisted it was a vampire.

A restaurant worker says the man grabbed the bird by the neck, hurled it to the ground and started stomping it. She says when he was asked what he was doing, he responded, “I’m killing a vampire!”
