This entry is part 2 of 3 in the series Monthly Haul

monthly haul #2

Hm. The first two Monthly Haul opening images contain Wolverine saying “Comics!” and I swear to God it wasn’t premeditated. Anyhoo, I kind of realized that since I’m doing this monthly comic book reviews thing, I might as well do it the last week of every month. If you noticed, I’m currently doing it the third week, which is sorta weird. So the third installment of Monthly Haul will come after the last Wednesday of January. I’m sure you don’t care, so let’s just go ahead and review some comics.

I’m a sucker for What If? and Elseworlds stories. I’m also a big fan of good crossovers. That’s why I was totally awesomed by DC and Marvel’s Batman & Captain America, which is an Elseworlds tale written and drawn by John Byrne.

In this fantastic comic, you get to see such sights as Batman and Captain America kicking random minion ass while flashing their carefree smiles.

This entry is part 14 of 19 in the series Friday Night Fights

An alien race is trying to take over the world, and the combined might of the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man is not enough to halt this invasion. Mr. Fantastic has to jump from galaxy to galaxy to find out how they can defeat this overpowering menace, leaving Spidey as the resident brain of the group, hence him becoming the sorta new member of the FF. But we all know that if Reed Richards is stumped, there’s only one man who can come up with a solution to win magnificently. And that man is DOOM!

death of the new gods #2No, I’m not starting a new blog series about delayed shipments of new comics. I just want to celebrate the first time that I used a no-new-comics day to my advantage. See, I checked with my LCS about the shipment before I went to the mall. I was told the shipment is delayed, but if I make an advance payment for the new comics, I’d get free comics. Cool, right? Not really. First of all, when the clerk told me I’d get “free comics”, she actually meant “a free comic”. Yeah. Singular. What’s worse is that she was pressuring me to pick my free comic since there were a lot of customers and they were about to close shop. I ended up picking The Death of the New Gods #2.

I didn’t get this issue because the first one left me feeling empty inside. It wasn’t horrible, but I felt it wasn’t worth following for 7 more issues. But hey, it’s free. Might as well, right? So anyway, here’s the rest of the stuff that I paid for in advance:

Who’s more dangerous than Frank Castle? Frank Castle possessed by an alien symbiote, that’s who! And when Punisher-Venom’s in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Moon Knight, that’s who!

Taste Moon Knight’s bi-coastal foot, Punisher-Venom!

Bahlactus has the whole story.

avatar This is where Baddie blogs about comics, pop culture, and other face-rocking things. Also, this is where Dr. Doom shares some of his infinite wisdom, but only when he feels generous. You will only bear witness to Doom's brilliance when Doom commands it! Your face, Baddie and Doom are rocking it!
