Last year, I unleashed the 2006 Awesome List. Since I already have Face Rockery this year, I think a name change will be appropriate. The 2007 Face Rocking List will showcase the things in comics and pop culture that totally rocked my face this year. In no particular order:
Hm. The first two Monthly Haul opening images contain Wolverine saying “Comics!” and I swear to God it wasn’t premeditated. Anyhoo, I kind of realized that since I’m doing this monthly comic book reviews thing, I might as well do it the last week of every month. If you noticed, I’m currently doing it the third week, which is sorta weird. So the third installment of Monthly Haul will come after the last Wednesday of January. I’m sure you don’t care, so let’s just go ahead and review some comics.
I’ve waited months between reading Vol. 3 and Vol. 4 of Y: The Last Man and it’s worth it. I read Vol. 1-3 again before reading Vol. 4 and it’s the best reading experience I’ve had in a very long time. I love the pop culture references, as well as the clean art. It just gets better and better every volume. Everybody should be reading this awesome piece of literature. Seriously.
Before we start with the reviews, let me just acknowledge the totally awesome conclusion of Friday Night Fights — Uppercut!!! brought to us by the wicked Bahlactus! Cosmic high five, bruh! Now, let me proceed with reviewing 2 weeks worth of new comics. YAY!
This week, I got my comics as they were being unpacked fresh from being delivered. Sweeet. Unfortunately, my LCS is still out of WWH: X-Men #2 so that’s a bummer. But this is not the time to be bummed out because guess what, it’s time for comic reviews! And this week, I’m introducing a new feature in New Comics YAY!: the Face-Rocking Panel of the Week!
