I just realized that I haven’t updated this blog since the end of June. This got me pondering on the future of Face Rockery. Should I (a) continue posting stuff that I can also post on my other blog and my tumblelog, (b) leave this blog alone and let it die a natural bloggy death or (c) shut it down now and get it over with? Then I realized  it’s just a frickin’ blog and it doesn’t deserve this kind of drama. So I opted for option C.

The trail of Face Rockery mayhem ends here, kids. I’ll keep the blog up but I will no longer update it. However, my geekery doesn’t stop here. You can visit me at Baddieverse, my blog of dickeries, for the continuation of my face-rocking geektitude! You can also follow me on Tumblr because I post random shit there, usually related to comics. Especially DOOM. And Poison Ivy.

It’s been fun, folks! See you around the Internet! And by that I mean Baddieverse and Purveyor of Villainy. Excelsior!

Before I explain why there’s a new post on this here blog after I put it to sleep half a year ago, let me just greet all of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR! *cue fireworks*

I truly hope all of us will have a better year in 2009. Not that I’m saying we had an awful 2008. I had a fairly awesome 2008. Nothing wrong with hoping for better things in life, right? Also, I wanted to bring in DOOM to help me greet you, but after last year’s fiasco, I thought it best to just leave him out of it.

Face Rockery has reached its 1 year mark. Who would’ve thunk it? I certainly didn’t. I gave myself 3 months tops on maintaining a niche blog featuring comic books and pop culture. I managed to do it for a whole year. This means I may have a future in niche blogging and that gives me the happies. Who knows, I may revisit comics niche blogging someday when… what? Oh. Right. Didn’t I tell you? No? OK. I’m closing Face Rockery indefinitely.

You’d think after celebrating 1 year of rocking faces, I’d be inspired to do better in the next year, right? Thing is, I feel this is a good time to quit and be happy with what I’ve accomplished (LOL What?!) in this blog. I managed to hone my blogging craft (another LOL) and I also met some new people. I’m particularly awesomed by the fact that this blog is raking in more site traffic than Baddieverse, which is supposed to be my “flagship” blog. Crazy. Also, regularly writing mostly full-length articles for 2 blogs takes up a lot of time and effort, and I have a few other things that I want to do that will require a lot of my time and effort. Something’s gotta give.

Next week, the Iron Man movie will drop into theaters. It’s going to be an awesome week. I propose that we all stop listening to everything that we usually listen to and just bask in the fantastic rock magic of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” song. Also, it will be the perfect time for me to hold Iron Man Week here in Face Rockery, but it’s too awesome to be contained in one blog alone! Enter: CINEMABUZZ AND COMICOLOGY!

And there came a week like no other, when three blogs united under one banner: IRON MAN WEEK! Cinemabuzz, the blog about cinema that involves some buzz! Comicology, the blog about the study of awesome! And Face Rockery, the blog about… um, faces being rocked? Whatever. All three blogs will host Iron Man Week and it’s all about our good friend, the Invincible Iron Man! I have no idea what we’ll come up with, but I bet it’s going to be irontastic!
