ITEM! Justice League movie closer than you’d expect! A script and a director (George Miller of “Happy Feet”) are in the bag, and as early as February 2008, production will begin. Also, rumors say it’s going to be an all-CGI “photo-real” motion capture movie. Christian Bale and Brandon Routh are likely not to be involved, and I don’t care. I want my JLA movie, dammit!

ITEM! Scarlett Johansson joins “The Spirit”! She’ll play the femme fatale Silk N. Floss in the movie adaptation of Will Eisner’s The Spirit directed by Frank goddamn Miller. Can’t wait to see the dangerous curves.

ITEM! Veronica Mars joins Heroes! Okay, not exactly the character Veronica Mars, but Kristen Bell. She’ll be playing a hot and mysterious character named Elle. May I just say that as a card-carrying member of the Horny Geeks Society, I am very pleased with this news.

ITEM! Millar and Hitch become fantastic! The duo that rocked everyone’s faces with The Ultimates will do their magic in the main Marvel Universe when they take over “Fantastic Four” in 2008. Let’s all pray to whatever god we pray to that they’ll deliver the comics on time.

ITEM! Alex Ross returns to Marvel! I’m not his biggest fan, but I enjoyed his and Jim Kreuger’s awesome Earth X, Universe X, and Paradise X immensely. So yeah, I’m definitely on board for Avengers/Invaders. Also, check out the teaser image. Is his… is his ass on fire?!

ITEM! Laura Hudson is awesome! Old news for me, but I just want to echo it.

ITEM! New ruling is made for Superboy copyright! I read the full text of the opinion and… well, actually I just read the first two pages then I got bored. The conspiracy theory of the fight for the copyright spilling over the comics is interesting though.

ITEM! Ghostface Killah is in the Iron Man movie! I’d like to call shenanigans, but I’m hoping he’ll do some wicked rhymes while talking to Tony Stark who will then incinerate his face with lasers. Word up, G!

ITEM! Former Supergirl Helen Slater to appear on Smallville! She’ll be playing the aunt of the new Supergirl, Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort. Slater will appear two weeks after Dean Cain, a former Superman, makes his appearance. Believe it!

ITEM! “Thrice-monthly” Amazing Spider-Man creative teams announced! Dan Slott, Marc Guggenheim, Bob Gale, and Zeb Wells write, while Steve McNiven, Salvador Larrocca, Phil Jimenez, and Chris Bachalo draw. It’s an experiment that could go brilliantly successful or very, very wrong.
