guardians of the galaxy

A new Guardians of the Galaxy ongoing will be coming soon, and it will be spinning out of Annihilation: Conquest. I loved the first “Annihilation” and I dig “Annihilation: Conquest”, so I’m definitely picking this one up. I just hope Star-Lord’s crew from his mini-series will make it into this new monthly because goddammit, they’re fun to read. I mean, come on. Rocket Raccoon and Groot’s odd couple shenanigans will be enough to make me stick to a monthly book. Make it so, Marvel!

Here’s a funny story:

I’ve had several experiences before wherein I braved ridiculous traffic while ignoring hunger just to get my new comics from my LCS, only to be told that the shipment was late and I had to go back the next day. This past week though, I knew ahead of time that the shipment would be delayed. I talked to the clerks via SMS and I confirmed that the shipment was indeed late. So instead of going to the shop on Thursday, I went on Friday. But alas! I was told I had to go back Saturday after lunch! Screw that! I’ll just get it when I pick up next week’s haul. I’m lazy like that.

I also enjoyed the fallout of said event, plus other recent and current Marvel events that include Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest, and World War Hulk. With DC, however, they fall short on the follow-ups and tie-ins, with the exception of 52 which I totally dug.
