Wrestlemania 25 Predictions

wrestlemania 25

Chris Jericho vs. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka: With Ric Flair in the Legends’ corner, you’d think the cards will be stacked against Jericho. But we have to remember that even though there are four of them, the Legends are geriatric shadows of their former selves. Then again, it’s not always about how good and fit you are in the WWE. Steamboat is being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year and it will be a damn shame if he’ll lose a match at Wrestlemania. Also, I have a feeling that Mickey Rourke will be involved in one way or another.

WINNERS: WWE Legends

25-Diva Battle Royal for title of “Miss Wrestlemania”: 25 WWE Divas, including the old ones, will battle it out to earn the title of the very first Miss Wrestlemania. Boobs galore, this one.

WINNER: My Penis

5 Wonderful Things About the Wonder Woman Animated Movie

Wonder Woman

1. Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor. There’s a lot of great performances in this movie but how Steve Trevor was written and how he was played by Nathan Fillion was its killer combo. From the lasso interrogation scene to the “Invisible missiles, of course!” moment, Trevor was a delight. Honorable mentions: Alfred Molina as Ares, Oliver Platt as Hades, and Rosario Dawson as Artemis. Sorry, Keri Russell. Your Wonder Woman just didn’t do it for me. I would prefer Susan Eisenberg (”Justice League Unlimited”) over you any day. Good job, though.

Oracle Turns Me On

When I first saw the cover for DC’s Oracle #1, I suddenly had impure thoughts about Barbara Gordon. I mean, I’ve seen her sorta hot before in Birds of Prey, but not like this:

Who’s Your Favorite Pop Culture Hero?

Entertainment Weekly is compiling a list of the top 20 heroes in pop culture and it will be published in an upcoming issue. This got me thinking “Wait, who are MY favorite pop culture hero?” For someone who appreciates villains more, this is a very daunting question. After a long deliberation with my hero worshipping side, I came up with this small list of my favorite pop culture heroes:

popheroes01

Superman. He’s the measuring stick of all comic book characters. They’re all defined by how different or how similar they are to the Man of Steel. In iconic status, he’s way up there with Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan, Jesus, and Mickey Mouse. Batman is cooler, but honestly, Superman is who we all really strive to be. And speaking of the Bat…

Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman’s Co-Creator Joe Shuster

Secret Identity

Because of a little movie called “Watchmen” hitting theaters this week, I’m thinking a lot of non comic book-y people will discover (and hopefully read multiple times) sequential art’s BIBLE. And upon reading 12 chapters of this revered tome, their perception of what a comic book is and what can be accomplished with the medium will drastically change. But what about us already comic book-y people? Is there a side of sequential art that we haven’t seen yet? I don’t know about you, but Craig Yoe’s upcoming book about Joe Shuster’s fetish art looks like something that can introduce me to the seedier side of comics.
