I haven’t been following the stuff that’s going on at the New York Comic Con, and I haven’t been posting stuff on this blog as often as I’d like, but reading some updates on Newsarama, a few pieces of information caught my eye and I just have to blog about it.

OK, I love apes as much as the next guy, but come on. Marvel Apes? NO. Let’s move on.
The Tony Stark cameo that has been feeding the buzz about a possible Avengers movie has finally been officially confirmed with a short clip shown at the convention. Here’s a play-by-play from Newsarama:
We see General Ross with what appears to be a black eye (or he is rip-roaring drunk) holding up a bar with a drink in his hand. We cut to the bar door opening, and like an old-school western we see a man in silhouette enter the bar and we hear Robert Downey, Jr.’s voice. Due to the screams in the audience what he says is barely audible, but then he walks up to Ross, we see Downey’s face. Ross compliments him as “always having the nicest suits.” Then Downey says to Ross: “I hear you have an unusual problem?”
“You should talk,” Ross retorts.
“You should listen,” says Downey.
Cut to black. Cue audience pandemonium.
Awesome. But what’s really awesome is a couple of Gail Simone-related news.
She’ll be bringing things up a notch in Wonder Woman, a book I’ve been enjoying for the last several months thanks to Simone’s fantastic first arc and her recent not-so-awesome-but-still-good 2-issue story. She says the upcoming arc on the book called “The Rise of the Olympian” will be huge and it will start with a brain-popping battle and will end with one twice as big. I’m down with that!
The other Simone news made my balls sweaty with anticipation. A new ongoing Secret Six series is upcoming and it will be drawn by Nicola Scott. I loved Simone and Scott’s issues of Birds of Prey and I will definitely put this on my pull list. My Birds of Prey ladies are back together and I say FUCK YEAH!
That is all.

I saw that Marvel Apes thing, and I didn’t know what to think when I saw it. Is it just me or does that Monkey!Wolverine look pretty normal?

Yeah. Reminds me of that time when his look became extra feral after losing his Adamantium. Bone Claw Wolverine. Ugly time to be him.

Keep an open mind on the apes. Marvel Zombies had me laughing my whole ass off.

Yeah, but Zombies kind of got old by the end of the 2nd mini. But still, I’m willing to give Apes a looksie.
