The New Watchmen Images
I’m not the most eloquent person in the blogosphere, so let me just tell you what I think about each of the new Watchmen images in a short and sweet manner:
I think I speak for the whole Internet when I say Movie Nite Owl is dangerously waaay too close to “Batman & Robin” costume EPIC FAILery. Way too close.
Now we’re talking! Movie Comedian closely resembles Comics Comedian, and at the same time, there’s a modern twist to it. I like, I like.
I don’t know if it’s the lighting or the angle, but Movie Rorschach looks MEH.
Movie Ozymandias joins Movie Nite Owl in the “Batman & Robin” comparison. They should’ve gone with gold and dark earth colors with a hint of purple on this one. I mean, come on. WTF’s wrong with his abs?! And nipples?! REALLY?!
Let it be known that I’m only saying YAY! on Movie Silk Spectre because Malin Akerman is phenomenally hot. Disregarding her, I’d just give this a MEH.
So, what’s your conclusion about the 5 initial Watchmen images, William Hurt as Gen. Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross from the Incredible Hulk Movie?
Can’t argue with you, sir. Well, the movie’s one year away. That’s a lot of time for the Internet to unleash collective groans inspired by production notes and maybe accept the nipples on Ozymandias’ costume along the way. Collective eye rolling, anyone?

I think you and the General are on crack. That Comedian image alone is worth the price of admission. I’ll give you that Nite Owl and Ozzy’s are a little weak (nite owl’s not bad, just could be that angle, but yeah Ozzy looks kinda sissyish).
Knowing how insanely awesome the graphic novel is, expectations are already through the roof. So I can’t imagine anything good coming of this film until I saw these initial images. Now I have some hope.

Having some hope just ain’t good enough for Watchmen, buddy. Having one awesome image alone will never be worth the price of admission for this movie. In fact, no matter how the movie turns out, it won’t be good enough. We all know that. We’re just shooting for near perfect here.

We all know that no matter how sucky/awesome the production photos are, we WILL be sitting our collective butts in a theater come March 09.
Hey you guys heard about Gerald Butler "voicing-out" an anime-styled version of the Tales of The Black Freighter? It’ll be included in the DVD release of the movie. Just sharing. ^_^
