Ultimates 3 Preview
I read a couple of issues of Ultimates 1, but I wasn’t really thrilled with it. Late shipping didn’t help with catching my interest. Madureira on Ultimates 3 isn’t really making me want to pick up this new “season”. The art looks awesome, though.

That’s a very nice gatefold cover. It’s awesome to see Ultimate Venom and Ultimate Sabretooth together. That’s just badass. I don’t like how Ultimate Thor’s drawn, though. He looks like a giant dwarf from the Lord of the Rings. And what’s up with Ultimate Magneto? Why’s he looking at the camera when there’s an impending clash between his troops and the heroes? That Magneto, so wacky.
Again with the bigger and bearded Thor. He resembles the 616 Thor more than the Ultimates 1&2 version. Can’t say this one is better, but he looks badass nonetheless.
Ultimate Grift… I mean Ultimate Hawkeye looks awesome. Assuming that he is Hawkeye. I’m not really familiar with the Ultimate Universe. Sorry. It does show that Madureira still has his ill skillz in drawing badass action scenes.
That’s just hot. I always dug the look of 616 Valkyrie, and I’m certainly digging her Ultimate version. Hot blonde chick wielding a bigass sword = WIN.
What the hell’s wrong with his head?!
Well, judging from the preview art, it’s a pretty little book. But again with Madureira. Notorious for being late. And Jeph Loeb? Last time I enjoyed his work, it was his first couple of arcs on Superman/Batman. That was eons ago. Will I be picking this up? I’d say… maybe.

I’ve always wanted an excuse to pick up an Ultimate title. But the thing is, Loeb’s recent work on Marvel has been less than stellar. So yeah, I guess I need more convincing. But the badass action scenes are wow, though.
