For our first Midweek Showcase, I present to you a photo of Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort as Supergirl:
It was obvious that when I first talked about Laura joing the Smallville cast as Clark Kent’s cousin, Kara (A.K.A. Supergirl in the comics), I’m very excited about the news. Come on. Strong-willed hot super-powered blonde chick in skimpy attire? That’s a very welcome addition to one of my favorite TV shows. Let’s just hope she’ll be more than just eye candy.

Let’s hope the writers make her look enough to really expand. She needs good story lines to keep it interesting. I agree she doesn’t need to be just eye candy.Other fans seem to think of her as a teenybopper. As a fan of over 30 years, she’s more than that. She took her role as “protector” seriously. Let’s hope it’s done here and we can see her with her own show!!

Agreed! And I wouldn’t mind her taking over Smallville since we’re basically done with Clark’s teen years.
