Who Watches the Watchmen?
I have no idea, but in March 2009, I’m definitely sure that I’ll be watching the Watchmen… movie.

Warner Bros. Pictures has recently confirmed the cast for Watchmen, the movie adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons‘ comic book mini-series masterpiece. Jackie Earle Haley will play Rorschach, Billy Crudup will play Dr. Manhattan, Matthew Goode will play Ozymandias, Patrick Wilson will play Nite-Owl, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will play The Comedian, and the ridiculously hot Malin Akerman will play The Silk Spectre.
I say “ridiculously hot” because DAMN she’s hot. Ever seen Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle? No? Well, here’s a visual aid to support my claim:

See? But she’s not the only reason why I’m excited about the movie. It’s the freakin’ Watchmen! Most probably the greatest work of sequential art ever! EVER!
With the Watchmen, big deal in the comic book plane of existence as it is, expectations are high. Sky high. A lot of fans don’t want the movie to be made because it will allegedly ruin the source material. I just don’t get that line of thinking.
I do have my reservations because I’ve read the mini-series, and I do understand that it’s difficult to translate the whole experience to film. But Zack Snyder will be directing, and I have faith in him. The thought of him applying to the Watchmen movie the voodoo he did for 300 gives me the giddies.
