With DC releasing a teaser image last week for “Final Crisis”, I’ve realized that I have a love/hate relationship with Marvel’s Distinguished Competition. Well, at least with their events.
Although I mostly hated the Civil War mini-series, I loved the concept as a whole. And there were a lot of good tie-ins. I also enjoyed the fallout of said event, plus other recent and current Marvel events that include Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest, and World War Hulk. With DC, however, they fall short on the follow-ups and tie-ins, with the exception of 52 which I totally dug.
Speaking of weekly comics, I’m happy that I didn’t get on the Countdown train since according to most online feedback I’ve read, it totally sucks.
Now, with this teaser comes another threat of a crisis for the DCU. It’s getting old, guys. Can’t you wait a few more years before doing another crisis again? How final is this Final Crisis, anyway? Is it as final as Final Fantasy? I’m thinking no because Infinite Crisis wasn’t all that infinite. Well, at least we now know what Countdown is counting down to.

Hell, if it was as any good as Infinite Crisis, I’m a-buying.
